Twenty Questions With Stacey Schinella

Updated: Feb 6

We're back with another edition of "Twenty Questions With Quest," and this week, we are thrilled to introduce you to our Office Manager, Stacey Schinella! As the organizational maestro behind the scenes, Stacey plays a pivotal role in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly and that our passionate Quest community always has access to the information and resources they need. Get to know Stacey in our feature below!

Who is your favourite artist? I’ve always been intrigued by Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Having what you need, a little of what you want, and a jar of Nutella for the challenging days.

What do you splurge on?

Natural wellness products.

Which talent would you most like to have?

To be able to speak in public in front of large audiences with ease and confidence.

What is your favourite way to spend your time? Relaxing at home with family or going on an adventure. I love new experiences and doing nothing in equal measure.

Who is your favourite writer?

I absolutely love to read, and I have many bookshelves of books in my home, but I actually don’t have a favourite.

What is your most treasured possession? The paw print keepsake that I received after my cat of 16 years had passed away.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Moving from New York, US to Canada, and raising a family in an unfamiliar place.

Where would you most like to live?

Somewhere that is always warm and sunny.

Who are your real-life heroes?

Anyone who can remain positive during challenging circumstances.

Who is your favourite musician? My husband. Music brought us together.

When and where were you happiest? When I was a child – outside all day with my friends. And shockingly, while homeschooling my children during the pandemic.

What is your favourite colour?

Either turquoise or lilac.

What is it that you most dislike?

When someone doesn’t keep their word.

What would you be doing if you weren’t in the arts?

Teaching – I once took an assessment that listed what career I am most suited for, and that’s what it said. Seeing as I’ve already taught at a private school and homeschooled my own children for a few years – I’d say that’s pretty accurate.

What is your personal motto?

Expect the worst, and hope for the best. You’ll never be disappointed, but you’ll always be prepared.

What does Quest Art School + Gallery Mean to You?

I love working with children and doing administrative work, and this is a nice combo of both – within a beautiful environment. Being a part of the community in this way is so rewarding.
