💧 Reminder for Quest Members! Submissions for our next Members’ Exhibition, Life-Giving Water, are due next week.

What does water mean to you? How do you engage with Georgian Bay? This is your opportunity to reflect (in every sense of the word) on your relationship with water as a vital life source. Members are encouraged to explore how their chosen medium can evoke the movement, mood, and meaning of water, or examine the environmental impact of their materials upon it.

Last night’s Annual General Meeting was a reminder of what makes Quest so special: people who believe in the power of art to connect and inspire.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to reflect on the year’s accomplishments, share ideas for the future, and continue shaping the creative heart of our community. We’re so grateful for your presence, passion, and ongoing support.

A BIG Quest thank you to all of the ghoulies and ghosties who stopped by during Saturday’s Mini Monster March to take part in our ghost lollypop craft. We had over 200 participants and couldn’t have done it without our superhero, Anne-Marie Denis.

One of our favourite parts of our Children’s Programming? Watching every young artist bring their own imagination to life. No two projects ever turn out the same, and that’s exactly what we love about it!

Creativity was definitely brewing at our Halloween-themed PA Day Camp yesterday👻!

It was a privilege to join the Park’s Chief Naturalist, Tim Tully for a day of creativity surrounded by the breathtaking fall scenery that once inspired the Group of Seven. Under this year’s theme of “Water,” inspiration was flowing freely!

Call for Artists: Tri-Cultural Exhibition at Quest Art
 Every community has a story, and ours is written in many voices.

Midland’s roots run deep in Indigenous, French, and English heritage. From the Huron-Wendat and Anishinaabek peoples to French settlers and English builders, these cultures have shaped the land, the language, and the way we live together today.

We’re commissioning three large-scale 2D works, each created by an artist who identifies as Indigenous, French, or English, to reflect the living heritage of this place through a contemporary lens. Your work might speak to ancestry, community, or the ongoing dialogue between past and present; what matters most is that it tells your story, in your own voice.

Selected artists will receive an honorarium and installation support. The exhibition will run March 8th – May 8th, 2026, in the Mezzanine Gallery at Quest on the second floor of the Midland Cultural Centre.
If you’re ready to share your perspective and tell the story of Simcoe County in a way only you can, we’d love to hear from you.

Are you between the ages of 13 and 18? Do you care about art, community, and making your voice heard? Quest Art School + Gallery is launching its very first Youth Committee, and we want YOU to be part of it!

As a member, you’ll:
✨ Share your ideas and help shape youth-focused events + programs
✨ Build leadership, teamwork, and creative skills
✨ Gain hands-on experience in event planning, curation, marketing, and more
✨ Connect with other youth who are passionate about art + community

Last night, we officially opened Standing Up for the Alliston Aquifer, an inspiring exhibition by @ontariosocietyofartists members that celebrates and protects one of the world’s purest water sources, right here in Simcoe County.

Guests were treated to powerful insights from Dan Travers of the Water Museum, Erik Schomann of Save Our Water Tiny, and Beth Elson of Beausoleil First Nation, who spoke passionately about the importance of the Alliston Aquifer and how blessed we are to have access to such pristine water. Their talks added depth, meaning, and community perspective to the viewing experience, which was a perfect complement to the artistry on display.

Through painting, photography, and mixed media, Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) members explore our collective responsibility to protect and preserve this vital natural resource for generations to come. This exhibition invites you to reflect on the connection between art, environment, and stewardship, and the ways creativity can inspire meaningful change.

We’re thrilled to welcome @sarah.hancock.art as our new Program Manager at Quest Art School + Gallery! 🎉

Sarah will be leading the way on our Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Grow Grant, while also overseeing Exhibitions and Adult Programming.

A York University BFA (Honours) graduate and an award-winning emerging artist, Sarah is no stranger to Quest! She’s been part of our community as an instructor and artist-in-residence, bringing creativity, passion, and fresh perspectives to everything she does.

We can’t wait to see Sarah step into this new role and help shape the next chapter of Quest’s story.

Armed with a BFA from Concordia University and a University of Toronto certification in Public Relations and Leadership in Not-For-Profit, Lawrence is as dedicated to the arts community as he is to his own creative practice. From drawing and photography to painting and illustration, art remains at the centre of everything he does.

Please welcome @jeanetteluchese_jacobs, our next Art Slam: True North Challenger! 🎨✨ Jeanette wears many hats as a painter, printmaker, sculptor, educator, curator, illustrator, and professional designer, all from her Innisfil-based studio.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, with public art installations in Port Huron, USA, and Georgina, Ontario. In 2025, she’ll represent Canada in HumanRights? BARD in Italy!

While Jeanette primarily focuses on fresco painting, she also has a passion for oils, and for Art Slam, she’s bringing her favourite oil pastels to the stage. Silvija’s inspiration comes from her love of driving adventures across Canada, especially behind the wheel of a classic VW Beetle. From winding roads east and west to the landscapes “slightly north,” she captures the spirit of exploration in her art.

Known for her vibrant contemporary landscapes and colourful resin paintings, Silvija brings bold energy and a fresh perspective to the canvas. And this year, she’s bringing that same adventurous spirit to the stage for her interpretation of “True North.”

A graduate with honours from the Advanced Fine Arts Diploma program at Georgian College, Wendy received both the Scholarship of Excellence and Excellence in Studio awards. But her talent doesn’t stop at creating; she’s also a passionate teacher, leading Beginner Painting classes for Tiny Township and sculpture workshops across the region.
