A Day of Playful UN/Making With Jill Price This workshop is sponsored by the F.K. Morrow Foundation Have you ever thought about where your materials come from and where they will end up? Dr. Jill Price is an interdisciplinary artist who has spent the last six years researching UN/making as a creative act to help reduce the harm one's practice produces. Finding that UN/making has led her to think more creatively while reducing her costs and carbon footprint. Join Jill for a full-day workshop where she will facilitate a series of activities that will have you thinking about your surroundings and materials more creatively and critically. Participants are encouraged to bring tools (screwdrivers, utility knives, hammers, scraper, scissors, paint... ) that can help to physically deconstruct or dismantle of harmful social and economic constructs as well as supplies (tape, glue, twine, scrap fabric, needle and thread...) that can help to reassemble disparate parts and materials to produce something else of value or use. For example, attendees can bring an artwork or other household object they no longer want or that are broken. All materials should already be in one's possession, used, or second-hand.
