Discover the art of wet felting and transform soft wool into a beautiful, functional piece! In this hands-on workshop, instructor Shirley Sutton will introduce you to the fundamentals of wet felting, guiding you through using wool, warm soapy water, and gentle agitation to create a sturdy felted fabric. Participants will create their own wet-felted bowl or plant pot cover while learning techniques that form the foundation for countless future felting projects. Whether you're completely new to felting or looking to expand your fibre art skills, this workshop welcomes all skill levels. Be prepared to get a little messy! Water can splash as you work, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a towel if you'd like. All materials are provided, and you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind felted creation and the knowledge to continue exploring this versatile craft. If you joined our Needle Felted Fall Gnome Workshop, this class is the perfect next step to deepen your understanding of felting. Together, these two workshops provide a wonderful introduction to both of the primary felting techniques—but you're equally welcome to enjoy this class on its own.
